Congratulations, the semester is almost over!
The project will be broken into three portions. The first portion is creating a blues melody that has an A and B section in the key of Bb. THIS WILL BE DUE MAY 7TH

The second portion consists of creating an arrangement for the ensemble and performing it with everyone. THIS WILL BE DUE MAY 14TH
The third portion requires you to write a 500 word paper detailing your emotional inspiration from life experiences, how you felt about performing the melody, and how you felt about making an arrangement. THIS WILL BE DUE MAY 21ST
Instructions for the first portion of the project are as follows:

Compose a blues with an A section and B section in the key of Bb using NoteFlight https://www.noteflight.com/

Be ready to perform melody with rhythm section along with two choruses of improv
Instructions for the second portion of the project are as follows:

Create an arrangement of your composition for Bb, C, and Eb instruments.

Rhythm section charts are not required for the arrangement since it is the same blues form we play over in class.

The arrangement has to be easy for performers to read

The harmony must be accurate with smooth voice leading

The arrangement must have a section for backgrounds during solos

Chords must be above the correct beat (tutorial for inputting chords into NoteFlight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56nZodCW8Zg)
Instructions for the third portion of the project are as follows:

Use Microsoft Word to write a 500-word paper. DO NOT GO OVER 600 words!
